GPS Time and Frequency Systems




Under limited supervision, performs standard drafting assignments from work orders provided. Makes engineering computations, writes specifications, and makes adjustments in drawings or specifications. This is an intermediate level position, requiring moderate drafting skills.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares working plans, detailed drawings, and complete mechanical or electrical drawings of
    components and assemblies.
  • Works from notes, verbal instructions, and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing
  • Verifies completed work and checks dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities.
  • Creates and manages Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) through approval and release cycle.
    Including chairman of Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Drafting – Create Assemblies, Fabrication drawings (light to medium) using SolidWorks and sometimes
    AutoCAD software.
  • Sustaining Drafting – Make drawing changes and document change history per verbal and red-lined
  • Perform related work as required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • 3-5 yrs experience working in Cad drafting environment using SolidWorks.
  • 3-5 yrs experience in Cad drafting environment working to drawing requirements manual or Mil-STD-100 and ASME Y14.5.
  • 2-3 yrs experience working on assemblies drawings, fabrication drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM) and
    Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Requires strong oral and written directions.
  • Ability to make accurate drawings to scale from design drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed, technical instructions.
  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office Applications, email, etc)
  • Great problem solving/analysis skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.


  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills both computer and non-computer.
  • Having a working knowledge of Agile CM system a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax

required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, bend,
reach, and walk. The position requires some light physical effort. This would require the ability to lift or move
objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities are
required by this job which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
